I am Marie and I have been knitting since I was 7 years old when I got my Knitterbugs certificates and badge! I started knitting toys and then progressed to baby clothes which was a great learning experience and then onto full size garments. I like to keep learning to ensure that I keep up to date with techniques.
I learned to crochet in my late 20’s and wanted to do this at the time just so I was able to crochet basic edgings onto my knitting. Little did I know that I would get hooked (excuse the pun!) and go on to crochet much more than just edgings. I have also done Tunisian Crochet which uses a long hook and is a combination between knitting and crochet.
I teach knitting and crochet classes in East Sussex and enjoy passing on my skills to others as well as being a Technical Editor. In this role I check and correct patterns for errors and this builds on the skills I used when I was an Auditor, as I had to have an eye for detail and making sure things are done correctly.
